Majesty

We had a very warm but pleasant walk this morning following our usual deer walk route.

We didn't really expect to see any as the hinds are busy with their young and the bracken is perfect for them to hide in. On approaching the first path through the woods after crossing the fields, a hind and it's baby was spotted. I just got a (very blurry) picture of the baby looking back at us before following its mother into the shelter of the high bracken. I wasn't quick enough or accurate enough with the focusing.

We continued back through the hamlet of Ravenroyd and saw nothing other than rabbits in the fields and the horses at several stables down there sporting nets over their heads to protect them from flies.

This doorway in the very attractive stone buildings of the main farm here is often surrounded by flower baskets and pots which I have photographed before, but it is normally either open or has its occupant looking out. I never realised it was home to royalty!
