Guess Where We Are (Again!)

Yes, back to Tolethorpe Hall and the Stamford Shakespeare Company for a performance of ‘Tom Jones’. 
 
Described as a ‘bawdy comedy’ it certainly lived up to its billing.  Henry Fielding’s writing made sure it was bawdy, but the players made it one of the funniest plays we have seen in a very long time.  It’s not often that one laugh just rolled into the next – non stop.  We needed the interval to get our breath back.
 
Earlier this year  we saw ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The Stamford Shakespeare Company seem to have a ‘sex’ theme to their plays this year .  .  .
