It's been a while

... since I blipped this tree. There's enough going on in summer that I don't normally have to resort to wandering round the village looking for photos. This is a bit samey, but I spent a while trying to make a good mono conversion.

Yesterday was blipless but not uneventful. We decided to have our nominal 4th of July party, which rarely takes place on the right day or even in the right month. No luck with the weather. After the rain on Thursday, it was a cool and breezy day. So the garden was a non-starter and after a site inspection at about 6 pm we decided it wasn't even warm enough to drink aperos outside. So some furniture moving was done to fit a dozen people in the living room. We were reasonably successful at keeping the food simple (and not making too much) this time. For the record:
sourdough focaccia, topped with onion and rosemary, and pears and Gorgonzola
escalivade
rice salad with paella spices
apricot-glazed chicken drumsticks
marinated pork belly strips
cheese
tarte aux myrtilles

It was a pleasant evening, and a rather late night leaving us feeling a bit weary this morning. And tonight we are going to the Tira-tap with some friends ...
