A view from Jeanneb

After the storms.

There was a very autumnal feel this morning with a distinct coolness and mist hanging over the woods of St Ives after yesterday's storms.

We walked along the Harden Beck valley through Goit Stock to see if the heavy rain had increased the flow of water. It wasn't as full as expected but flowing fast. I'm really not a great lover
of waterfall shots and this one is very frequently taken by local blippers but I liked it!

We returned via Hallas Bridge through the fields at the top of the woods, which was fine to start with but when we reached the fields Chris and I had walked through last Wednesday morning on our path watch, it was a quagmire. A runner coming in the other direction warned us it was bad, obviously the cattle in the fields had moved down to the path to shelter under the trees from yesterday's deluge!

We made it with even Toby (white Westie) remaining reasonable clean and the sun started to break through and it is warm again. Perhaps summer will stay for a little bit longer!
