Thornton-le-Dale

'Regarded by many as one of the prettiest villages in the national park', claimed the leaflet and frankly, we had to agree.

We headed over to Thornton-le-Dale this afternoon for a tea shop and a stroll before a pub stop and dinner in the van.

The scarecrows we came across amused us with a huge dragonfly with sieves for eyes and this drunken punk sitting by the most gorgeous house in the village, somewhat out of place.

One of the many things I love about the van is watching the sun setting and the skies flaming and tonight has been a beauty.
