Ladies lunch

It is amazing how effective a powerful photograph can be. By now most people have seen that heart breaking image of the dead Syrian boy on the Turkish beach, and it seems to have galvanised David Cameron into action and he is now allowing thousands of Syrian refugees into Great Britain. It is a refugee crisis on an enormous scale that the world has not seen for some time, the worst exodus since the Rwandan genocide 20 years ago.

On a lighter note, I met up with some special friends in Guildford to have a belated birthday lunch. It was lovely to see them again and the restaurant was very good too. And they spoilt me with some wonderful presents!
