Calm

13.0C and dull. Zephyr/calm.

Maeve the Deerhound was out in her garden this morning.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. We went up to the church then down the bridle path. We came back along the cycle path and went down to Westhaven beach via the road bridge over the railway. The tide had just started to go out. The sea was flat calm. Valhalla A was out at sea, the dinghy moored by the outermost post in the channel through the rocks. Two smaller boats were moored near the beach, barely moving.

We carried on along the shore path which was the old boardwalk. There were fewer people about than yesterday on the walkway by the main beach at Carnoustie. We went along to the golf courses then turned up by Simpson's Golf shop and went up to the main road. We came back along the High Street then turned to rejoin our normal walking route up the main road out of town before turning along for home.

Later I mowed the front lawn. Almost. I got about 80% of it done when the motor in the lawnmower burned out. I have been waiting for this to happen, but was determined not to buy a new mower until this one could mow no more. The part of the lawn I didn't get cut can wait until I get a new mower.

Maeve has been snoozing indoors this afternoon.
