Friesian cows, great milkers, the staple dairy herd in Devon, in fact, in most places! They're a lovely lot these girls, each with their own name tagged to their ear. I know the farmer quite well, his wife came to my mum's funeral. They're a good farming family. You can always tell by the quality of their animals & the look of their fields, the hedgerows are bursting in life, the fields are empty of rubbish - as in no dropped string or plastic & all of their gates are in good nick! You just wouldn't believe some of the farmers round here, no pride at all! *steps off soap box*
