The curse of Christianbury Crags

The Haltwhistle Autumn Walking Festival started today. Hooray!

The long walk was 12.5 miles to climb Christianbury Crags near Bewcastle. Last time we brought a walk here it poured all day and the crags were shrouded in dense mist. No chance of the famous 360 degree views.

Today we set off in mist, but no rain. We hoped that the sun would burn off the mist. It did, for about 15 minutes on the crags, but the mist was still dense all around, so no wonderful views. Guess we'll have to go again.

35 of us did the walk and had a great time, despite the weather and the lack of views. You see the group in that small window when the sun reached us.

Perhaps the weather will be kinder tomorrow.

Aggie and Arth say thank you to all who have asked about them recently. They did very well today and I hope they will behave all week.
