THE SUN HAS GOT HIS HAT ON : PINKTOBER 7

I think it’s fair to say that since we arrived in Cornwall, we have not had good weather.  We drove down in very foggy conditions, then we had mizzley rain, and last night when we were due to go down to the local pub for a meal, the heavens opened.  Geoff was very kind and said we could go in the car, although it is only a ten minute walk away, but he was concerned that we wouldn’t have to sit in wet clothes all evening.  He is a star!

We had a lovely meal at The Old Albion and by the time we left the rain had stopped, but the wind had got up.  We were glad to get home into a warm house, so the curtains were drawn to shut out the night and as the wind whistled all around, we watched a Billy Connolly film, What We Did On Our Holiday.  I’m not that keen on Billy Connolly, but we really enjoyed the film and there are lots of amusing parts mingled with the dark and difficult moments.  Strange and sad to think that Billy Connolly is struggling with cancer and Parkinsons in real life.

This morning I wandered round the garden looking for something pink, and there were lots of pink flowers, but then this soft flyer caught my eye, sitting on the picnic table.  I’m not sure whether it’s just for Phoebe to play with or whether Geoff & Sue play in the garden together, but I decided it was a good one for the Pinktober challenge.

I’m sure the sun is shining somewhere - it is trying its best here and we are all hopeful!  Ah well, we’re going out to lunch and even if the sun doesn’t shine, we should get some lovely views of the rough sea.

Wherever you go,
     no matter what the weather,
          always bring your own sunshine.
