Apple Picking

Dear Diary,

The apple trees in the backyard are loaded this year.  They are a very tart variety but I pick them to cut up for Gaylord and Sadie Rose (the raccoon who visits at night). I've added a picture of a bee feasting on one of the cut up apples. The deer love to eat the falls each year so I leave them there for them to enjoy.  Apple picking is mindless work so it suited me yesterday after the painful revelations of Wednesday.

I had two young people helping cut the perennials back.  I think they did a good job so they'll be back next week to continue.  It is a bit early to start this but I just need to get things done.  David will be here today to paint the porch ceiling and take out the AC's in the bedrooms.  Another thing to cross off my list.

The great news is Emerson loves his new food!  A good first step in managing his health issue.  I was reassured that cats can live with this condition for several years with proper care and you can rest assured that he will receive the very best care I can provide.

We will get some much need rain today but the weekend is looking good.  The Shaker Village is having a autumn festival tomorrow and I might drive over to see it.  I need some of their wonderful herb mixture for Thanksgiving.
