Grey Crowned Crane

A visit to Lotherton Hall today - a mini blipmeet with lovelupins17.

After a coffee and cake - what blipmeet would be complete with out this ritual?? - we wandered around the gardens and deer park. The deer were, annoyingly, just too far away to get a decent shot and the trees were not quite colourful enough to really shout "Autumn".

We did find a few things to shoot though - mainly close ups. Then we went around the bird garden - a great courtship display by a pheasant, but his lady friend wasn't interested and the 'worm feeding' by the hornbills - difficult to tell how that was going!

The shot is of an African Grey Crowned Crane - I managed to get the crown showing all the little feathers in nice detail. I have also included an owl in the extras  - it has amazing big orange eyes.
