Life in Sunny Dubai

Girlie things

aka [cake] shoe and handbag!

It's been quite a day! REALLY good.

It started by making it to an 11am showing of The Little Prince - new movie just come out and it was FAB. So glad I went to see it as I often feel that anyone who tries to do anything with this story apart from what is written in the book just messes it. The movie was lovely - one I could really recommend, not least for its very uplifting soundtrack which I have got to track down asap. We also had an entire cinema all to ourselves! I guess it is either too early for a Saturday morning or a movie that doesn't resonate with the majority of movie-going people here. Oh well.

We were on our way to Bur Juman to get a pink blip, when plans changed and we ended up in the newly opened Hyatt Regency Creek Heights. First time in there and it is interesting to say the least. G quickly sussed out a place to eat and that is where my blip is from. They seem to have a very creative cake chef/decorator. The pink handbag was a must-blip.

Great lunch and very friendly staff. An avocado salad was ordered and I was telling G about an article I recently read which mentioned the benefits of eating avocado everyday. G said she was up for it but the trick is to find good avocados so we enquired where the one in the salad was from. Mexico! [Coincidentally, same as the Chef!].

That brought me to relating the contents of a documentary about Mega Factories that I'd watched on Thursday afternoon on the Nat Geo channel. They were talking about Corona (beer) and the stats were truly mind blowing. Over a billion bottles sold worldwide every year and every single one of them produced in Mexico! Two million bottles produced everyday. G listened intently and as neither of us had ever drank a Corona in our whole lives, we should go and drink some right away; so off we went to Carter's (see extra). There you go.

Got home for 4 o'clock tea and even fitted in a siesta. :)  Such a relaxed day. Now ready for a new week... Hope your weekend has started well.
