Monteverdi 1610 Vespers

It's not San Marco, but Stephen Stubbs, the artistic director of Pacific Musicworks, says it's the " acoustic and architectural equivalent" of Monteverdi's San Marco here in Seattle". The sound is marvelous in St. James cathedral. ( the seats are not). It's a fabulous piece of early music that fills the space and ones soul.
We weren't sure we'd have time to get there with the horrid traffic in Seattle today due to one bridge closure and construction on several highways.... All because there was no football in Seattle this weekend. We missed a lot of Nik's soccer game because we couldn't get there easily and on our way home we got a text from d-I-l that she was stuck with a non running car in a shopping center.... So we managed to get there and get Fiona off to her birthday party... They can deal with the car...both of us just have one so ours will have to help out tomorrow.... Always something...

Fortunately the music tonight eased all that frustration.
