Close Encounters

Wonderful to see this kingfisher on the river this afternoon till the sparrow-hawk nearly ...oh soooo very nearly got him as he suddenly swooped in. He flew away fast tweeting upstream in a total panic. Not half as much as I was panicking I can tell you watching this encounter!!! I could feel my heart thumping!!

An adolescent here and a lesson learnt I hope!
