Catching the Eye of the Basilisk

A coy smile which said, "You are looking at me now and smiling but....things could be going better!' I couldn't have possibly commented!

Giving it his all - oh yes! I could 't fault him on his efforts to impress but the love of his life wasn't having any of it. Not at all. I didn't say that he might look no further than his nose with all that dead skin still dropping of.... but I didn't. His head was bobbing up and down and his crest was magnificently raised  to frantically catch her eye...nope!!
