The Desert Speaks

One red tuna is left on the grizzly prickly per as a reminder of summer days gone by.  But something new has been going on in the desert the past few nights and I hear it again tonight.

Imagine a dog howling non-stop,  Now imagine two of them.
Can you put the sounds of their howls up an octave, or even two?
Now imagine the howls becoming more of a wail, a cry.
Now hear them echo, echo as they grow closer...then farther away...then closer...then fading...deep into the desert.

Listen as these cries of the coyotes last an hour or more as they come and go. They are the very eerie, spooky night sounds of the desert.  It's not the fear of people which causes me to lock my doors at night.  It is the fear of the desert  next to which I live.
