The next generation (?)

(Added 5/11 - learnt today from Farmer Franz that it wasn't his son Markus driving the blue New Holland, nor his tractor - he was horrified that anyone would teddy with the front loader attached! It was however  the son of a farmer from a neighbouring village, so the flavour of the Blip remains the same)

Another day in the garden, the weather playing along and driving out the farmers to do the final silage cut. I concentrated on hedge cutting.

Late afternoon dashed to the council compost yard with a trailer full of clippings. On the way home spotted Markus in the New Holland in the distance and so again with no photo taken detoured down some tracks. First spotted MrB's pick up parked outside his forest hut so detoured there. Found him loading up prepared "bait", a sort of mash with grain, apples, conkers to put out to attract the game. Wild boar have been spotted in the area and now with the maize gone, they are easier to spot. However that is relative - they are hard to spot at the very best of times. Wished him luck. I suppose I should inform the Tuesday morning  Ladies Nordic Walking Club - last year they abandoned the route just above our house as there were supposedly wild boar around.

Then back to the fields and the two young farmer's sons teddying. The IH red tractor driver you may recognise from the village potato club Blip a few weeks ago. He was suffering, having to use the tiny one wheel teddy, the large one having broken yesterday. Markus in the background putting in an overtime evening shift as he is currently working full time at one of the local hospitals as maintenance engineer to help out while a colleague is recovering from illness.

It will be interesting to see how these lads futures develop particularly with the current pressure on dairy farmers. Good luck to them both, they are both very personable, friendly guys - I wish them well, wherever their chosen careers take them.

PS Thats one of MrB's shooting hides in the middle and a further one on the left at the edge of the forest. You can tell when you are on his patch - he has the best maintained hides in the area.
