Abstract Thursday - Finlay

I was out early with the dogs ahead of the forecast rain - we set off just after 7 a.m.

I was thinking of long exposure possibilities - as it it was still fairly gloomy.

In the end I tried some shots of the dogs running - in this case it was Finlay.

I set the camera to smallest aperture and this gave a couple of seconds exposure (although exif seems to show 1.3 seconds). set the timer delay to 2 seconds and got him running along side me - lead in left hand and my right arm outstretched with camera vaguely pointing at him. A bit of trial and error - but this one seemed to work quite well - you get a bit of motion blur in the background and you can see his head bobbing up and down.
