Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Safe and sound and all tucked in..

It was blowing like stink in Tsawwassen this morning.   When we got on the ferry, the announcement said “SIT DOWN…it’s going to be BUMPY”      It was, but the picture I took didn’t do the gale justice….and it seemed to calm down some as we got closer to Galiano on the Strait of Georgia.     And the rain let up.  We were SO lucky!   and SO grateful!   Always.   We had thought of all the alternative scenarios but were able to get here just fine (it’s only maybe 20 minutes in our little boat)—the wind is from the south and we are on the north end of the island.    Just happy to lug all our stuff up the dock before it started to really downpour again….whew!    Now we are set for more than a week…. fire in the wood stove….larder full…. power on….happy. … calm.

That string does a good job of discouraging the gulls from perching doesn't it?    Ha

And we just read that the ferry canceled the rest of the day’s runs after it got to Saltspring Island due to “severe”  weather….it happens…… a gale is 34-47 kph…

Extra is looking the other way at the willow leaves hanging on at the head of the wharf….
