A view from Jeanneb

A belting adventure.

Tuesday isn't my normal walking day but my neighbour asked if I would like to walk so we set off at 8.00am. It was dry and calm (a bit eerily so) but not very bright.

We skirted the lower side of the St Ives Estate woods and walked through the fields to start with before following Altar Lane to the top of the estate and returning down the side of the golf course.

We often miss out these fields as they can be boggy but we were both clad in wellies today. A group of three 'Belties came galloping down the field keeping a weather eye on us but neither of us are spooked by cattle and we had no dogs with us. They walked ahead of us towards the stile that exits on to the road.

This tree has a magnificent shape and is much admired, interestingly it has retained it's leaves on one side for the time being, I photographed it as it is a favourite of my friend and companion. You might have spotted the 'little' Beltie in the corner of the shot. He is a young bullock, the other two were cows, and he decided he didn't like the look of us!

We decided the best course was to climb over the fence, a bit of a struggle for my short legs! Our walks are full of unexpected adventures!
