Nicky and her Nikon

Travelling home again

After breakfast I said goodbye to the other photographers who were heading off to the coast for the last day of the photography workshop. I packed up and then a taxi took me to the station at Penrith for my journey home.

It has been wonderful spending time in the company of other photographers - all blippers if you want to check their photos too ; David (RockArea), Ann (AH14), Peter (LooseCanon), Clive (Nikonabike), Graham (GrahamColling), Paula (Pixelfoto),and her husband Guy (who is not a blipper) and Alison (Pixiedust) who we recruited to Blipfoto this week. Last night we were also joined by Annie and Chris  (AnnieAndChris) for dinner as they were holidaying nearby. Besides learning so much from our leader John, it is also amazing what you can learn from other photographers whether it be Photoshop techniques or in camera photography skills. Last night John took a photo of all of us   as we gave Gail a present of thanks for her many years of managing LPH and for all the delicious meals - she will still manage LPH but from a distance and is pursuing other interests from next week after 17 years of service.   It is always lovely to actually meet people you 'know' from the virtual world of Blipfoto, and they never disappoint - photographers are lovely people! It was an added bonus meeting Annie and Chris who were just as lovely as I imagined.

Travelling back home by first class train was very comfortable and it is a very pleasant 3 hours and 9 minutes direct line to London. The scenery is spectacular from the train window but not easy to photograph so unfortunately today you get a rubbish, blurry shot of the beautiful English countryside taken through a dirty train window!

I went home early as it is the end of term concert of the Symphony Orchestra at school, the first one where Thomas as principal trumpeter will have some starring moments! It was an excellent concert, well worth being there, and I also got to meet his trumpet teacher for the first time to discuss Thomas' progress.
