A view from Jeanneb

Last Pathwatch.

That little bit of promised snow was visible this morning together with some icy paths but there was the bonus of beautiful blue skies and sunshine. So after the coffee morning at church and a quick bacon buttie we set off to Wilsden to do our final Big Pathwatch square (no 15).

We climbed to Tan House Lane with great views back over our village and skirted Birchlands in eyewateringly cold winds.
The route then crossed back over Wilsden Hill where one of the paths unknown to me was flooded and unpassable.

Some of the land was still boggy and some had a crust of light but frozen snow as you can see here.

This is looking from Wilsden Hill across the village of Wilsden to Noor Hill where we were walking on Friday morning. This being the highest point of out two villages has the most evidence left of our early morning sprinkling of snow.

We enjoyed the walk but it is good to be warm inside now as the sun starts to go down.

The Big Pathwatch finishes at the end of December and we have done those closest to home so I think this will be the last one. Glad we have done them they have been like mini adventures!
