Twinkle, twinkle ....

Wendles56, Corinthian Column and I took a trip to Chatsworth today to see 'Chatsworth at Christmas'.

We certainly saw a mass of cars and coaches but despite the heavy traffic we enjoyed the extensive market and the food it offered. A pleasant walk around the gardens before the weather turned then a mulled wine and mince pie to fortify us before our tour of the house.

Inside the house amongst the lovely Christmas swags and trees were tableau from Alice in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party is seen here and was the one I liked best. ( Thought the Mad March Hare seated here looked a bit like Timothy Spall as Mr Turner!) The Dormouse as always is irresistible but can you spot some one in the background? I don't think I did when I took this shot as it kept disappearing and reappearing as in the story.

Yes it is the Cheshire Cat on a screen at the top of the stairs!

A grand day out in excellent company despite the weather and the event also raised funds for our neighbouring church and scouts.
