Merry Christmas!

Walking in Chagrin River Park with Bob and Gulliver, I encountered a man with a pocket full of apples. He would pull one out, take a few bites, and then throw them in the direction of the deer, who naturally walked closer and closer to see who could be first to grab an apple. As we watched, one deer picked up an apple and was ready to gobble it down, until another deer walked over, raised her hoof in a threatening gesture, grabbed the apple, and walked off happily munching on the tasty treat. Apples are a highly anticipated treat, and some deer aren't above a little larceny to get one.

Merry Christmas, friends. We're off to a holiday open house, followed by the midnight candlelight service at our church. That's way past my bedtime, but I'm planning to sleep in tomorrow.
