Self Portrait

This was the only part of the photo that was of any public viewing value, despite several attempts at a standing self portrait.

It began with a good ol' fashioned wrasling match with a camera attached to a tripod.  Under normal circumstances one wouldn't think that setting up for a selfie in your living room would be that challenging.  But if you're lazy and don't want to remove your 400mm lens, the challenge begins.  (Remember now, I have one hand with no strength and little grip.)  It meant lifting the whole contraption high in the air to get past the immovable table, with the legs of the tripod flailing in the air and the camera precariously bobbing back and forth.

Once the contraption settled back to Earth, I realized that even with the lens pulled all the way in,  I couldn't get it to focus on the blinds where I would be standing.  That meant going back to what I should have done to begin with...changing the dang lens and getting "close up and personal."

You know how getting SPs go, right?  First your head is cut off, then perhaps it's your arm.  Eventually, you get yourself centered but you're not happy with the six chins or you forgot to remove your eyeglasses.  When you are alone and running back and forth trying to strike the perfect pose in ten seconds without killing yourself it's a wonder anyone is successful doing it!

Tonight...the camera, tripod and living room table won and my face, neck and body lost.  Chalk one up for immovable objects!

 "Happy Holidays!"
