Gently down the stream

St Thomas & the Abbott's barn

Of all the shots I might have blipped today, I certainly didn't expect to be posting this!  Partly because the rain's been so heavy that visibility at times was approx 2 metres and partly because I've never thought of this as being a photogenic vista.

However, about mid-afternoon the sun popped out, all yellow and sulky.  The sky was even a little blue, though as you can see here it quickly corrected itself to grey with light patches.

Being at the end of the close where I live, on the left of this shot you see the Abbott's barn.  Relatively recently it was the Barn Stores, now it sells fancy fish too small to eat with chips on a Saturday night.  In front of it are the red crab apples I blipped on Boxing Day.  In the distance, beyond the much-uglier-than-they-look houses, is St Thomas's church, currently being converted into 9 'luxury' apartments.  Oh, how fab!  :-/

And that's it for today really.  Just about to put the bread in the oven, cook chicken for supper and settle down with a (small) glass of sloe gin.  Mmm!

Wishing you a good evening and I do hope the start of the week tomorrow goes well for you  xx
