Back to Work, Back to Running

When you're retired, it's difficult to distinguish days sometimes. Today was a sort of hiatus. The first day back at work in the New Year for many and yet the Christmas lights were on only yesterday.

All decs and cards taken down now. The sun shone rather watery, giving rise to a soft light on the Grand Union Canal. Basil and I took our morning walk here after buying new print cartridges in Staples. Water levels were high.

Everyone we met today was smiling, relaxed and kind. As the dentist said to me, they're happy after Christmas. That's good. I must admit to feeling a little more energetic myself.

The runner came down the towpath at an appropriate moment. Caught him on a third.
