An Elegy to a Plate

An   Elegy to a much loved plate-
It was only weeks old, but much loved by this lady of the Dower House. She found it by chance when Christmas present buying and was immediately struck by its unique appearance and bold design.

It was not a dear purchase but when nestling alongside its compatriots in the china cabinet it could hold its own by looking sophisticated, unusual and expensive.
The Lady took it as her chosen snacking plate when it was not pressed into service to hold Christmas Cake or shortbread biscuits. Every time she saw it she thought how lucky she was to have found it, and loved it a little bit more.

Alas as so often happens with things one comes to love, it met an untimely end this morning at the hands of His Lordship, who is a class act in the art of of breakage, even though he professes otherwise. To him it was just another accident of little consequence, but to me it was so much more.
He is currently dusting out the kennel.

Through the pages of Blipfoto this short lived plate will be immortalised for as long as this site remains on our screens. Please Pledge to ensure my plate is remembered for ever.
