THE GULLS

at the pond were enthusiast about the bread that I brought them.
I walked with Mischa there. I had not yet been at this pond or any other one in our surroundings.
There were many gulls, some coots, some geese too. And pigeons of course. Some ducks, but not many. I did not see one single swan.
The weather had changed a bit. It rained sometimes, and the sun kept hidden mostly.

My haiku:

Swarming in the air
Catching a piece or two there
Then quietness again

And the quote by George Santayana in Interpretations of Poetry and Religion (1900):

Habit is stronger than reason.
