Uncommon

It's January, and I found this butterfly flitting about in the sunshine ... extraordinary. I didn't have the right lens on the camera, and no time to change it, so the photo is terrible, but I thought it worth recording. Can anyone tell what type of butterfly it is?

S still isn't feeling great, so a quiet day at home. I made a huge pot of ribollita with the stock from the cabbage, and we had some for dinner followed by rhubarb, apple and ginger crumble with custard, so that cheered him up.
