Tiny Tuesday - An Aid to a Dry(ish!) January...

This is the rubber valve-action stopper from a "Vacuvin" wine-saving kit.

In case you haven't seen them, they come with a hand pump to suck the air out of a part-drunk bottle of wine, avoiding it from becoming oxidised until you get round to drinking the remainder of the wine.

I know that some folk think a "part-drunk" bottle of wine is an oxymoron! - but my Editor and I both seem rather hypersensitive to the effects of more than one glass at a time, so we find it very useful. (I can wake next day with a hangover if I just look too long at a bottle of wine!).
