Miss L and the Roly Poly Bird

It was Miss L's class assembly this morning. They've been looking at Roald Dahl and the assembly was based on his books. It was so sweet!
They all came in under green sheets as the Enormous Crocodile, they sang the Oompa Loompa song, dressed up as George and his Grandma and made his magic medicine, read out dreams from their dream jars, dressed up as Willy Wonka, paraded their fabulous Roly Poly Bird puppets which they'd made as well as giving out facts about Roald Dahl's life and writing.
The highlight (for me!!) was Miss L's mixing up of a magic potion. She went over to the trolley of secret ingredients and mixed some together like a mad scientist. The resulting fizzing and expanding froth was very exciting and she looked so funny standing there watching it and beaming.
They all did so well. It must be nerve wracking performing in front of so many grown ups!
The rest of the day was spent filling in gaps from the last few days on Blip, a bit of reading, catching up on EastEnders and making plans for our weekend in London.
My mum's Christmas present to me and Mr K was a night in London. We're going tomorrow so I've spent the day researching and booking.
So far we have the cinema in Leicester Square booked for tomorrow night followed by a Thai meal, brunch on Sunday in Shoreditch followed by a trip to the Museum of London. Or maybe the V&A. Or possibly the Imperial War Museum. We'll see!!
Exciting!!
