Asparagus!

Miss E's not a big fan of trying new foods. She normally pronounces judgement long before it passes her lips! So I was pleasantly surprised at dinner time when she wanted to try asparagus. Spluttering that it was disgusting she managed to finish a whole spear. Progress indeed!!
Years ago when Miss T and I were on holiday in the spectacularly beautiful Cannero Riveria on Lake Maggiore there was a waiter in the hotel who pronounced asparagus in a wonderfully Italian way: Ass-parra-goose. With the emphasis on the goose. I've pronounced it that way ever since.
I had to laugh tonight as we ate our roast to hear Miss L ask for more Assparragoose!!!
What with the random time checks and weird vegetable pronunciations the Little Misses are carrying on our traditions beautifully!!!
