View to Aberlady Bay

Today was the day to try out my new slow cooker.  I have never had one before, but friends have told me that they are great.   A Moroccan chicken concoction was on at 8.30am to be left for four hours!  I then made some soup, did a few chores before sitting down to look out the window for an hour to do the RSPB bird watch. It was a long hour!  I spotted:
5 wood pigeons
1 sparrow
1 blackbird
1 robin
6 magpies
2 seagulls
1 collared dove
3 crows
and a flock of something – that I haven’t identified

After lunch we headed over to Aberlady and went for a short walk to seek out the remains of Luffness Friary.  At the start of the walk we met two ladies who were very concerned as a sheep in the adjacent field had got caught in some wire netting and was trapped.  TT to the rescue, and he managed to free it. No thanks from the sheep!

We came home and enjoyed some delicious chocolate cake made by a friend.

The boys are heading out to watch Star Wars this evening at a community cinema event in town. BB has plans to meet up with a couple of friends, poor TT will be looking for a friend – the other abandoned parents no doubt!  BB is desperate to get there – even though he has seen it already.

I have no desire to watch it, so shall enjoy the peace and quiet in front of the fire.

Here is a view over a sheep field and Aberlady Bay from our walk.  The extra is some primroses that we spotted in the woods (along with aconites and snowdrops).

February tomorrow - how did that happen?
