The last morning

Carnival ends today and the poseurs were out in good numbers this morning. Photographers were rather thinner on the ground than preiously.

After breakfast we walked to Arsenale and enjoyed the light there.I met th delightful Venetian lady with her 2 year old dog (see extras).

We took a valporetta across the Grand Canal and had another walk around a different area.

I found a tiny shop where a mask maker was working away. He explained to me about the traditional papier machier masks. See him at work in the extras.

This afternoon there were poseurs using out hotel lounge for photo. They were playing cards around the table. It made a stunning portmantaux image.

The surprise of the day came in the early afternoon. Tim arranged for a gondolier to take 2 poseurs up and down a short section of canal. We took turns to sit in the boat with them.

Tomorrow I fly home. It's been an excellent holiday.
