Birthday Girl

Some days I could get away with writing got up, took the kids to school, sat around a bit, got the kids, sat around a bit more and went to bed.
Today was not one of those days!
It is our beautiful Miss L's birthday.
Six years since she burst into our lives and made our little family complete.
Six years of laughter, giggling, craziness, joy, cuddles, funny faces and general fabulousness!!
This morning she burst into our room and announced that it was time to open the pile of presents she'd found in the living room. Under the giant helium number six!
The morning passed in a whirl of present and card opening, breakfast, general excitement and attempting to get ready for school.
Miss E had turned up in our room at 6.30am. Fully dressed and ready for her taster day at the new school. She was "a little bit nervous but mostly excited!"
We managed to leave earlier than normal and got to the new school on time. Miss E was met in reception by a couple of girls from her class and went off with them without a backward glance! She's always been a brave little thing!
It felt odd to leave her there but no time for dawdling I had to get the birthday girl to school in good time for her school trip. They were off to the Roald Dahl Museum for the day. Miss L was giddy when she found out it was arranged for today! It was one of her classmate's birthday too so it was an exciting day in Year One!!
From there I want to Mrs K's for our now usual Wednesday morning coffee, Duchy satsumas and chat! Lovely!
Home for a bit of studying and then to school for Miss L before school for Miss E!
Miss L had had a fabulous day which was ace.
And Miss E had a fabulous day which was ace too!
I had a meeting with the Deputy Head before picking her up and apparently she'd fitted in amazingly - like she'd always been there! She'd got on really well with everyone, she'd been the first one to solve a challenge in maths, she'd done a demonstration at the end of the dance class, she'd made a parachute in science; she doesn't use punctuation and her handwriting could use some work! All in all brilliant and they'd be delighted to offer her a place.
She didn't stop talking about it all the way to gymnastics - all in minute, wonderful detail!
Miss L and I had lovely hour in the car snuggling and listening to The Witches while Miss E was in earning a badge and then it was off to Frankie & Bennys to meet Nana, Papa and Daddy for a birthday dinner.
More presents, candles in giant sundaes, party poppers, Happy Birthday being blasted through the restaurant. Just brilliant!!!
Unsurprisingly Miss L fell asleep on the way home! Miss E just about stayed awake until we got home. At 9pm!
I was in bed by half past.
A big day in the K household!!!
