OSTRICH

in Wülmersen. And quite a lot of them.
A nicer day with now and then sunshine. So I worked in the garden in the morning. After lunch we first did vote, for the municipality and also for the 'Kreistag des Landtages'. We are dutch persons in Germany and we were a bit surprised that we were invited to vote. We found out that it is so different from what is expected from us in The Netherlands. Here we have 17 for the first and 81 for the second vote. It will take days before the outcome will be clear.
From there we drove to Wülmersen, where the Wasserschloss is. As often as I try I can hardly take a suitable photo of this castle. I am not really good at taking pictures of buildings, and although this castle is so picturesque, I seem to fail all the time. But it is very nice to walk around it, the surroundings are very inspiring and inviting for walks.
Near the castle is a farm and we were surprised to see a meadow with many ostriches in it. They were so curious and came running towards us.
In the middle of the field there was spot filled with sand and they plumped down in it. Falling over, but they did not seem to care.
Our walk went along a brook, the Holzape, and at some point we took a path to the left, that went up a hill, with beautiful views.
Then we went down along the forest till we reached the quarry and Wülmersen again.
The extra shows another ostrich.

My haiku:

Kept behind fences
They seemed a big family
So inquisitive

And the proverb:

Ostrich policy.
