A Grand Day Out

What a grand day out we had in East Lothian with our visitors. sunshine all the way, with a wee snow flurry as we arrived home. Perfect.

First stop was Cockenzie for a walk along the beach to Port Seton harbour, then into the Secret Garden for a good coffee and - yes - apple strudel x2, rhubarb tart and a rather huge crispy bacon bap. Just hit the spot, they did.

On a bit further to Gosford House, where we had a walk in the woods and admired the hosts of snowdrops. Lots of the paths were shut off, unfortunately, but we got as far as the Big House. Last time we were here the fields of daffodils were out, but they're not quite ready yet.

On the way back home we stopped at the beach to give Archie a run off the lead along the sand. It was a long drive, and he very nearly made it without being sick. But not quite. Shame.

Home in time for the last two hours of the Davis Cup tennis. What a match! Well done Andy once again. And what a great end to the day.

And so tomorrow is his second birthday. Bailey is coming for a doggie party... We're excited.

PS My knee got strenuous work out today! But I'm not happy. Last night it "locked". The operation was supposed to have fixed that!!!

Four years blipping! Thanks to all those who pop in - you're a great bunch.

Archie can't understand why his birthday and my blipday coincided last year, but not this year. Something to do with leap year, Archie...

Looking back over the years, I used to take a variety of photographs, some of them quite good too. But then sore knees and other health issues slowed me down, so thank goodness wee Archie arrived, and commandeered my blips. He's changed quite a bit from last year - more handsome, I think - he's lighter in colour, I cut off the long black moustache bits, and I don't clip his face so close - he can never enter Crufts Unlike his father and grandfather.
