Feeding the birds, Mote Park

A busy day today. Time for a walk in the morning before Al and Liz came. We picked up a few last minute items as well as collecting a couple of books from the Library that I'd reserved.

Then it was back home to prepare dinner and lunch before our friends arrived. I always enjoy these days, good, relaxed company and the opportunity to relax the diet for a day. A coffee was accompanied by a sweet biscuit, first for a month, lunch was a little more than usual, then there was a teacake with a cup of tea and then dinner with a real pudding, Sticky Toffee to follow.

We spent a pleasant time at Dobbies Garden Centre near Ashford, buying things we didn't know we wanted - including for us a new garden hose but we had a 10% discount voucher given us that was valid for the day only so that made the trip more worthwhile.

With Al's expert help we managed to get the TV to talk to the internet at last, only to find that some of the services are no longer available or are finishing in the next few months; BBC iPlayer for example will no longer be available on our TV after September and YouTube is already not available. If we want to access these apps we need another device (or a new TV). Granted our TV is 5 years old but we should be able to use the apps for longer than that.
