Plan B

This was yesterday's plan B if I hadn't made it on the walk.

There has been renovation work going on on Bingley's Three Rise locks on the Leeds - Liverpool canal since last month.
This special crane was shown on the TV on Sunday so decided we should go down to take a look. The crane straddles the lock and as we were there this morning it was lifting out one of the old lock gates.
I chose this shot for the symmetry and the way it shows the crane across the lock as well as the top gates  reflected in the canal.

The more famous Five Rise locks just a few metres further along the canal were renovated just over 5 years ago and we actually went in side them on the open weekend - here

Both locks were built in 1774.

The disadvantage of leaving it till today was the weather was pretty uninspiring but the advantage was that the 5 Rise cafe was open today for coffee! (Closed on Mondays)
