Busy Bee

Another corker of a day. Tried the tractor but still no sign of wanting to start. Bit more cleaning up in the garden, taking the trailer over to the compost yard.

Then set about de-wintering the bees. Another hive has died off in the last few weeks, so now done to just three. The winter hasn't been hard in terms of cold but very confusing probably for the bees. Warm, cool, warm, wet, cool, warm cold, wet ....... and so on. However as MrB always says: Look for the mistake in your own work.

With spring around the corner, think about your garden bees whether wild or from your local hobby beekeeper. And please think twice when buying honey as to where it comes from. There are a number of videos circulating on Facebook at the moment showing the industrial production of honey. Perhaps the extra few shillings pence and cents for  locally made honey is worth the investment and for those with pollen allergies, honey can help but only if you eat it from local bees who have collected pollen common in your area. Mexican mountain monkey bean tree pollen is unlikely to help your sneezing in Europe.
