Easter Egg .....

..... or rather, the Exbury Egg. Not what we expected to come across this morning, but appropriate for the day.

Designed over a period of 5 months, constructed over 7 months, the artist Stephen Turner lived in this egg between July 2013 and July 2014. It was moored on the Beaulieu River, and now sits temporarily at Exbury Gardens.

It is constructed of western red cedar, and has solar power so Stephen has good wi-fi and can charge his laptop and camera.

He told us that it moves to Burnley on April 12th, and will sit on the Leeds Liverpool Canal. There will presumably be some sort of fanfare when the Arts festival opens on April 29th. We will have to visit it at its new location.

Happy Easter
