VIEW UPON THE WESER

I am glad we went for our walk. Just to the sheep we said and these were utterly happy to get bunches of fresh grass from me.
The weather all day so grey and windy. I put some of my new plants in a container, looks rather pretty.
Mischa phoned us, and it was nice to catch up again.
At the end of the afternoon, unexpectedly, the clouds somehow had gone on holiday and a splendid blue sky smiled to us, not for long of course, soon the sun went under.

My haiku:

Along the river
On a small spit the swans have
Begun making the nest

And the proverb:

The Netherlands are the cockpit of Christendom.

1642   Howell, For. Trav. xiii.
