Signs of Spring

It felt like Spring had finally arrived today as the temperature rose and the wintry chill in the air finally disappeared.

I reluctantly left the bright sunshine outside for an afternoon shift at the promo store. The shopping mall was predictably quieter than recent days but thankfully enough passing shoppers popped by to keep me busy.

At dusk I took a walk with a friend to the upper parkland on the Castle estate in search of the barn owl we spotted a few weeks ago. No sign of the owl hunting for his supper this evening but plenty of barnacles, geese and swans in the distance around the Great Water.

The daffodils are flowering on the Cedar Lawn and the view seemed to say 'Spring is here!' Just as we arrived back from our walk the heavens opened in typical 'April showers' fashion. British Springtime is predictable in its unpredictability as ever.
