DIDN'T WE HAVE A LOVELY DAY.....

We woke again this morning to the sound of rain on the window and it was quite chilly.  We had planned to meet Jules, a lady who used to be a Blipper, at a Farm Shop near Scotch Corner, about 50 miles away so we got going soon after another hearty breakfast.

Mr HCB was surprised that I didn't even know what she looked like but I was confident I would know her as we have been in touch quite frequently over the last couple of years so when we arrived it didn't take long for us to find each other!

We chatted as if we had known each other for years but then had to take our leave so we could drive on to meet our friends, Sue and Robin, after our "unfinished" day yesterday.

Mr. HCB and Robin went out to a nearby Bird of Prey Centre at Walworth Castle and had a great time, then after a lovely meal together and lots of chat, we reluctantly left them to travel back to our home for the week.  We have known Sue, who is actually our younger son's Godmother, for 45 years and spent some time reminiscing about when she lived in Swindon but just hope it won't be another ten years before we meet again.

“One of the delights of life
is eating with friends,
second to that is
talking about eating.
And, for an unsurpassed double whammy, there is talking about eating
while you are eating with friends.”
