Three Little Piggys

Dear Diary,

Well, more like 15 little piggys total!  When to the farm where Beulah was born to see this year's new piglets.  They were beyond adorable!  They were running and jumping like baby piglets do and it was hard to get a decent image of them until they stopped to sniff some grain on the ground.  Those ears!  I added an extra photo of one of the piglets who momentarily stood still.

This farm runs a "farm share" vegetable business.  People play a flat rate for the growing season and come each week to get whatever veggies they want.  This is an excellent way for a farm to anticipate income and manage produce.  Families get high quality, organically raised fresh veggies and they support the small farmer.  You can check out Mountain Heartbeet Farm's FB page here.

Supporting local farmers is something I am passionate about.  I won't be growing veggies in my greenhouse this year, just some new perennial plants.  I will leave the veggies to folks like Mountain Heartbeet Farms.  You can see Joanne harvesting some spinach in another extra.  It may not feel like spring quite yet but the sight of those leafy greens was pure heaven to me!
