Cowslips in Meadow Park

Rushed over to East Leake first thing with photos from last night's event having discovered the compact flash card was no longer readable by neither computer nor camera.

Fortunately, Hayley has recovery software and was able to retrieve the photos, for which I was immensely relieved. You take photos of an important event in someone's life and then lose them - it's such a letdown for the subjects.

Hayley's studio is next door to Meadow Park, on flood plain which even the council agrees it would be imprudent to build. But they have made it a really nice place to walk and let dogs run, as well as having a big play area. Naturally, Basil enjoys it.

On the far side, in a wet depression near the stream, I found a crowd of cowslips, lovely, characteristically English Spring flowers, in danger from building and unthoughtful mowing. Begging for a photo, as you can see.

In the afternoon, I had a PR assignment over in rural Staffordshire, just south of Sudbury, at a family run haulage company. Marvellous to see the family as one bonded unit.
