Nest building time...

Dear Diary,

This little Chickadee is checking out my offerings for nesting material...first from a safe distance above and then a closer inspection, extra photo.  Thanks to fellow blipper DDW for reminding me about hanging these out.  I get a nice bag of wool from my friend's farm, her sheep gladly share their fleece for a good cause, and I add pieces of yarn and raffia as well.  The wool will make a cozy lining for their nests.

We got some much needed rain over night but it is clear now but I won't be doing much today in the garden.  The poison ivy is now a blistering, oozing mess and I have to keep it covered.  If it doesn't improve today I will call my doctor.  It is very uncomfortable and it is hard to concentrate on much else but I will soldier on.  A good day to clean and set up the studio if I can manage it.

I'm getting some help on Saturday with the heavy stuff in the garden so that will be good.  I am putting in two narrow planting beds next to my stone retaining walls by the barn to plant sunflowers for the birds to enjoy.  I'm going to try and start the seeds in the green house this week now that it is warm enough.  Greg is coming to turn on the potting shed water this afternoon.
