SQUIRREL SATURDAY

We decided after our usual Saturday morning coffee that we would go back to the Town Gardens to see if the cherry trees were blooming - but I think they still need another week before we see them in their full glory.

However, we went for a walk round and saw several squirrels - in fact, we noticed a little boy of about 4 having great fun chasing one - well it was fun for the boy - not sure the squirrel was enjoying it that much.

Then we spied this little squirrel, who was quite happy to pose on the wall for us - I know they are classed as vermin by many, but they are quite sweet and this one was quite content to be photographed.

Further on round we met Peter, another photographer, so I went and chatted to him to ask if he knew anything about a statue we had seen in the gardens last week - that led on to other things and before we knew it, we were exchanging cards - he had never heard of Blip, so it was a good opportunity to tell him about it.  He said he was trying out a new lens on his camera so we spent some time chatting about that and we both agreed that the good thing about photographers is that, more often than not, they are happy to share their knowledge with each other.  I certainly enjoyed the time I spent with him, while Mr. HCB had wandered off to do some bird watching before he came over and joined us.

More unseasonal weather today - sunshine, wind, heavy rain and even thunder - it’s May tomorrow, so I wonder what that month will have in store for us?

“To me, photography is an art of observation.
It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…
I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see
and everything to do with the way you see them.”
